Coaching for improved motivation in business | Phil Drinkwater

Increase your motivation

As a business owner, you may think that you have to be perfect for everyone around you. So, if you’re experiencing a period where you’re struggling with motivation, it can be very uncomfortable.

I’ve experience this in my own business.

We can work through a series of exercises which will help you to determine what’s behind this lack of motivation and build a plan to bring back the spring in your step which has been missing.

5 potential reasons you're demotivated

1. You are doing tasks that you don't enjoy

It's common for business owners to get pushed into roles that they don't enjoy. Eventually, your mind will be done with "just get on with it" and force you to stop doing what you hate.

2. You're doing tasks you aren't good at

Working within our weaknesses can be incredibly challenging and tiring. We might know that we aren't strong at these tasks, and pushing ourselves to do them each day can be demotivating.

3. You aren't working how you work best

We all work best in certain ways. Some of us need people, for example, so the more recently changes to working from home might be a struggle. Or you might have the opposite - a busy open office and a desire for quiet. Or you might not have enough creativity and challenge. Finding how you work best can be hugely motivating!

4. You don't see your business succeeding

There's nothing worse than slogging away at something when you can see the writing on the wall: "this won't work". But you may not have evaluated all of the options, or you may not be allowing yourself to change.

5. Something else... together let's discover why you're lacking motivation

You are unique and it would be a pleasure to understand how this has come about for you.

What's the reason these challenges occur?

We may start a business with good intentions to do what we enjoy, but times change

Possibly today you're working in a way you don't enjoy, and you've lost the important need that was met when you first started your business.

And we don't allow ourselves to recognise this and make changes

Some personalities are very good at recognising what they need and moving towards this, but some aren't. If you're in the latter category, coaching can help you discover this.

Your patterns are holding you back

If you're not allowing yourself to make changes, or discover what changes need to be made, you are sabotaging yourself.

What they say..

“I’m doing really well. Probably the best I’ve been. I have to thank you for the tools you’ve given me to deal with issues.”

An invented example:

Let's imagine you've been feeling demotivated for a year

It's incredibly common for business owners to feel demotivated at times. This is often part of the journey.

You may have tried to convince yourself to work harder

Your brain will listen to you if you're increasingly hard on yourself, right? Well, no, brains don't do well in these conditions...

You may also have tried "productivity tips" like filling your calendar

There are all sorts of motivation and productivity tips on the internet which promise but don't deliver in these situations.

But none of this worked, and you're stuck

So, now you're not sure how to move forward.

In business coaching, we'll look at what you were getting when you were motivated

I'll listen, ask questions and interpret what I hear for you, so you can understand what it is you really desire.

And we'll discover ways that you can deliver what's missing back to yourself

And we'll take time to look at how you can get "back to you".

If you are uncomfortable with being seen as weak, we'll move past this too

Some people find it uncomfortable being selfish, and we can work through that too.

What they say..

“The difference from my first session to now is life changing for me. The growth is so wonderful”.

Who am I?

I'm Phil Drinkwater, a leading transformational coach who supports business clients becoming motivated again

I'm a Certified Business Coach with a totally unique approach that will help you understand why you've stopped feeling motivated and happy in your business.

I'll support you in your journey at every step of your growth.

I’ve run my own successful online small business with up to 20 employees for 22 years

I’ve been demotivated at times, but I’ve always come through it when I’ve been willing to understand why, change and move on.

I'm also psychology trained

I'm aware that our needs, thoughts and emotions determine whether we succeed or fail, and how we can change these to produce a more success-oriented mindset.

How will we begin the coaching process?

What will happen in our Free Discovery Session?

In our first small business coaching session, I'll ask you about your small business and what challenges you're facing. Over that hour, I'll get a picture for what's going on, and let you know whether and how I can help.

If you're nervous, I'm incredibly kind

Some people are nervous, some aren't. Either way, I'll treat you with respect and, within that hour, you'll become comfortable. However, if you'd prefer a more gentle way to start coaching, we can do that.

All coaching is done online to keep costs accessible to all

I want to be able to support as many small businesses as I can, because you all deserve success.

Get FREE access to my course "17 lessons to $20million" - my own small business journey

In coaching we'll discuss challenges, resistance and how to design an amazing life and business

We can talk about anything that's useful to you, but we'll focus on learning what's really happening for you, and how you can move on.

We'll meet every 2 to 3 weeks, usually

I suggest we meet every few weeks, depending on schedules. This allows you to take actions so we can evaluate the effectiveness for you.

What they say..

“In just one session, Phil took me from a place of apprehension to one of clarity and confidence. We spent time working out what things I need in order to achieve job satisfaction”.

— MARA, NEW MANAGER

If you're nervous about coaching, let's chat on email a bit first, before booking a discovery call.

Not everyone is comfortable with the idea of coaching, and, if that's you, maybe you'd like to know a bit more about the process before booking an online call.
That's OK!
Let's chat a bit on email before taking the next step. And, honestly, you'll be fine since I'm incredibly kind.
