If you’ve decided to invest money in a business coach, it’s important for you focus on your goals so that you get the most out of coaching. Start with a clear goal in mind. Check that the coach understands your goal and has the skills to help you achieve it.
If you don’t have a clear goal, your coach can’t help you achieve it. For example, if you don’t have a clear goal, your coach might suggest that you should start from the beginning and create a plan of action, but if you don’t know what your goal is, how are you going to create something to achieve it?
It’s fine to set a general goal – such as “I want my business to be more profitable” – but this requires specific actions and decisions in order to be achieved. It’s better if you set a specific goal that aligns with this general goal. For example, “I want my business to be 25% more profitable than last year”. This is much easier for the coach to focus on.
